Yahoo mail shortcuts to move emails

June 16th, 2009

It always amazes me that after 25 years of using a computer, you can still learn something new every day.  Even the original email system I’ve been using for over 10 years now has had some new tricks up their sleeve for quite some time.  While I’m not sure when they added it, Yahoo mail has keyboard shortcuts for moving your mail into folders.

For that reason, I STRONGLY encourage you to create your folders in yahoo as follows:

Put a 1 in front of the one you want to appear first, otherwise Yahoo will alphabetize.  Then do a 2, 3, 4, 5, so it looks like this:

1 Friends
2 Family
3 Career
4 Business
5 Other

Then whenever you are reading your email, let’s say you get an email from mom and you want to save it, just press 2 to move it to the family folder.  Then let’s say you open an email from a prospective employer and you want to save it, press 3 to move it to your Career folder.

This is an amazing little time saver for those who have 1000 messages in their inbox and need to get organized!  Now I have one more excuse to continue being a pack rat with my emails!

Pros: Easy Assembly, Attractive Design, Provides Privacy, Sturdy Construction, Provides A Visual Barrier

Best Uses: Decoration, Privacy, Bedroom

Describe Yourself: Budget Shopper

Primary use: Personal

This screen is fabulous. It’s stunning and will attract many posive comments from your guests. I was looking for a room divider that didn’t look like your typical asian folding screen, or your typical OFFICE industrial look, and this fits the bill quite nicely. It isn’t 100% private like some other dividers are as you can still kind of see through the cracks, but this is definitely breaks the room up if you live in a big open space.
