Fire island – better luck next year!

Unfortunately my gig in fire island was cancelled due to being evacuated for hurricane Irene.   The Hurricane ended up sparing Fire Island and Manhattan for the most part, very little signs of damage any where in the city or on the Island.  Unfortunately, some of the other East Coast neighbors were not quite as lucky and had extensive flooding and damage.   I ended up making the most of my trip by seeing the sights in New York, taking a nice 32 mile bike ride along the Hudson River and through Central Park.    I did end up going out to the Island the following Friday (1 week after my gig) but unfortunately they had another DJ booked already.  It was still nice to have an opportunity to see Fire Island for the first time in my life, meet the friendly (and hot) staff of Sip & Twirl, and had an opportunity to hang out with DJ Steven Oliveri and DJ Lina, who is a real riot!!   I hope they will have me back again next year (during a normal time of the season and not hurricane time!), and thank you to PJ and Steven for their hospitality.
